Air Valves are an integral part of any steam heating system. There are three types of air valves such as air/vacuum valves, air release valves and combination valves. The air valve is designed for releasing air while the pipe is being filled and for admitting air when the pipe is being drained. Air Valves are necessary to regulate the air supply to the goldfish and to bleed off excess air from the air pump. Air valves are used to control the airflow in and out of the system usually at high points along the line.
