Industrial boiler is a closed vessel, which is used to a fuel source to heat water or generate steam for industrial heating and humidification applications. Common fuel sources include coal, electricity, natural or propane gas, oil, steam or hot water, and wood. There are two basic types of industrial boilers: fire tube boilers and water tube boilers. Fire tube boilers channel hot gases through cylindrical tubes that are surrounded by the fluid to heat. The boiler, which is the pressure vessel, contains the fluid. Water tube boilers are available in larger sizes, feature faster recovery times, and can handle pressures up to 5,000 psig. Performance specifications for industrial boilers include heat output or capacity, maximum temperature, maximum pressure, and thermal efficiency.

Level switches are used to send a signal when the level in a tank or vessel reaches a certain height. These are also called as discrete level meters. This consists of float type and probe. The float type is used to provide discrete level sensing and probe type are suspended, plastic shrouded electrodes or straight probes, connected to a sensitive electronic switching circuit. Many level measurement and control applications involve surge tanks where the level varies to cope with a sudden rise, or fall, of supply or demand. In these situations, tight control is not needed and would even negate the purpose of the tank by directly coupling inflow and outflow.

Level transmitter is used to measure the level of a liquid or bulk solid material within a specified space and to provide electrical output about these measurements that are proportional to the input level. This is used to measure level based on either a point level or continuous level readings. Point level transmitters provide output when a specific level measurement is reached. This is generally in the form of an audible alarm or an electrical charge to actuate a switch. This can be integrated together to give a stepped version of continuous level. They can operate through a wide range of temperatures, pressures, vapor gas mixtures, and process conditions. Some of the transmitters have air bubblers, which use a constant volumetric rate of gas flow fed through a bubble tube submerged in a liquid. Some use pressure membrane as a detector. These devices have a pressure sensitive switch with pressure transmitted to an internal sensor via an organic, or thin metal and membrane. Its ambient operating temp is +5°C bis 70°C. The sensor measures the pressure and the data is transmitted by a 4 to 20 mA output signal.
