Dock shelters are exterior door frame and jam features that extend outward from the building and permit the truck rear sides and top flush against this extension. These devices ensure that there is no gap on the two sides and top of the delivery truck and building door frame and jam. With no gap, it improves dock security and energy conservation. The dock shelter is a fixed frame structure or flexible frame structure with a head curtain that extends outward from the building. The two sides of the frame hang on to the delivery trailer sides and roof and conform to the rear door of the delivery trailer or truck. Both types of shelters have steel channel protectors to reduce trailer damage as the trailer is backed up to the dock.
