Ecological risk assessment is a process whereby toxicity (effects data) and exposure estimates (environmental concentrations) are evaluated for the likelihood that the intended use of a pesticide will adversely affect terrestrial and aquatic wildlife, plants, and other organisms. Data required to conduct an ecological risk assessment include toxicity to wildlife, aquatic organisms, plants, & non-target insects, environmental fate, environmental transport, estimated environmental concentrations and climatologic, meterologic, & soil information.
