Fire alarm systems are usually governed by stricter code requirements concerning equipment and its installation. It transmits a fire alarm actuation directly to the local fire service communication center. This system is the fastest and most reliable means of fire department notification. It alerts all occupants of a building in which it is installed when a fire emergency is present. It consists of sensors, control panel, annunciator and related wiring. It is generally divided into four types: non-coded, master-coded, selective-coded and dual-coded. In a non-coded system, an alarm signal is sounded continuously until manually or automatically turned off. In a master-coded system, a common-coded alarm signal is sounded for not less than three rounds.
