Gasoline engine is an internal combustion engine. It is divided into two general classes such as two-cycle and four-cycle engines. A cycle represents one stroke of the piston or one-half revolution of the crank-shaft. A complete revolution represents two cycles. In a two-cycle engine, the power impulse occurs at each revolution. In a four-cycle engine, the power impulse occurs at every revolution. Gasoline engine is used in power-plant applications.
