Graphite Anodes Manufacturers

Graphite anodes are extensively used in both underground and internal vessel cathodic protection systems. These anodes are manufactured in a three-step process from petroleum coke. The coke is calcined, molded to shape using pitch binder, and then fired at 2782°C to convert the amorphous carbon to the crystalline graphite. The graphite is porous and is sealed with linseed oil in order to increase the anode life. These anodes are inert in that no reactions occur directly due to the action of the cathodic protection currents.
