Profile: Protocast-John List Corporation specializes in producing precision investment castings. We produce plastic patterns for prototype investment castings. We are a full service foundry and machine shop that provides turnkey production solutions to our customers. We specialize in the pouring of aluminum, steel and copper-based alloys & have the capability to pour a variety of other air melt alloys when required. Utilizing both the ceramic shell and plaster investment systems, we are able to produce investment castings with a wider variety of design & geometry than any other foundry. We can also cast, machine, finish and assemble the parts. We provide engineering assistance for every part we cast. We have the flexibility to run production quantities ranging from 10 to 1,000,000 pieces per year. We can also produce rapid prototypes from the CAD data in as little as 5 working days. The benefits of rapid prototypes include proving designs and reducing the iterations or the process without the expense of permanent tooling. We are able to help optimize the development, design, and manufacturing of tooling for the investment casting process. We provide heat treatment for almost every casting. We are a fully equipped machine shop that offers both secondary machining as well as fully machined parts from bar stock.
