SMPS Based Battery Charger (Auto Float Boost)
The switch mode power supply (SMPS) based battery charger is launched by KB Electronics. This system is suitable for VRLA, SMF and Ni Cd batteries with the capacity of 100 AH to 450 AH. It is a portable, compact, light weight and low cost unit. True CV-CC characteristics quickly charge the battery. It is offered with rugged MS enclosure in table top or panel/wall mounting options. Battery life depends on number of factors such as operating temperature of the battery and the method of charging used. For better life of battery, it should be prevented from getting overcharged and undercharged, and this feature is accomplished in this system by using the Float Boost logic that operates on the pulse width modulation (PWM) principle. Other features include MCB at input and output and digital voltmeter and ammeter provided at the output.
