Sight flow indicator is used when a visual inspection of the process is necessary. The flapper design is used in transparent or slightly opaque solutions and in gas services. It offers an inexpensive means of viewing the process to assure that the stream is flowing or to note process characteristics such as color, turbidity, or other equipment malfunction. It verifies the flow of fluids through industrial process lines. Fluid clarity, color, and flow can be monitored through the window. The indicator type is specified based upon flow direction, flow rate, and media type. The window can be inserted horizontally or vertically. It usually consists of a small housing with a flange or thread for direct insertion into a pipe.
