Profile: Sterling Lumber Company manufactures high caliber mats and construction lumbers. We offer crane mats, pipeline skids, access mats, heavy construction & steel industry products, crating and rig mats. Each crane mat is made safer by creating consistent narrow notches, counter-sinking all nuts and ensuring that any long bolts are cut flush to the surface of the mat. These steps greatly reduce the risk of on the job injuries for the workforce. We can custom build lengths and sizes from our first-rate selection of dense Midwest hardwoods to meet the needs. Our crane mats are available in the thicknesses from 6" -12", lengths from 4' -30' and widths from 48" -72". Access mats are created from 22 dense hardwood surface boards that are 2" x 8" cut to exactly 168" & 18 dense hardwood center boards that are 2" x 8" cut to exactly 96" and then secured by 162- 3/8" zinc-coated carriage bolts. Each access mat is 6" x 96" x 168", trimmed to a perfect square and then outfitted with 3 interlocking boards for a perfect fit every time. We can also premake lagging and soldier pile panels.
