Thrust Ball Bearings are designed to take loads applied in the same direction as the axis of the shaft. They prevent the endwise movement. They contain a 90-degree angle. The ball bearing whose angle exceeds 45 degree is also classified as thrust bearings. These bearings are suitable for operation at high speeds. The ball bearing whose angle is 90 degree cannot support any radial load. These are used primarily in machinery with a vertically oriented shaft, which requires a stiff axial support.
