Profile: Vivekanand Electrical Industries Pvt. Ltd. manufactures power & distribution transformers of various types up to 5MVA. We are an ISO 9001:2000 certified company. Our range of products include power & distribution transformers up to 5 MVA 33 KV class with off circuit & on load tap changers, converter duty, air cooled transformers of 11 KV class, low voltage high current and furnace transformers. We also manufacture special types of transformers such as isolation and Scott connected types. We undertake complete repair and servicing of transformers & OLTC. The core of our transformer is constructed from laminations of cold rolled grain oriented low-loss electrical silicon sheet conforming to the latest international standards. Each lamination is coated on both sides with carlite insulation which is unaffected by continuous operation in oil at temperatures normally experienced in service of transformers. The core is provided with mitred joints to reduce corner iron losses & magnetizing current and it is also designed to have uniform flux distribution throughout the magnetic circuit. The windings are made of paper insulated conductors of high conductivity soft drawn electrolytic copper conforming to the latest standards. The transformer windings are suitably designed to meet the mechanical, thermal, and electrical requirements. The windings are wound with adequate bracing and anchoring tapes in order to achieve a strong, self-supporting structure. Coils are assembled on core limbs after removing top yoke laminations. Trapping and phase connections are made with multi-layer paper covered conductors. They are suitably supported and separated to ensure that adequate clearance is maintained. All transformers are subjected to routine tests as per IS 2026. We are fully equipped to carry out all routine tests and type test of temperature rise in our works. We also arrange special type tests of impulse and short circuit.
