Weatherproof junction boxes are used as junction boxes in outdoor installations or indoors, where dripping water is a problem. These enclosures are designed to protect equipment against rain, sleet, and snow. Enclosures are made from steel. The top of the enclosure serves as a drip shield and the continuously welded seams prevent rain, sleet and snow from entering. Knockouts are provided on the bottom only. The cover slips on and is fastened by screws. Four internal mounting holes are provided. Enclosures are finished with heat fused polyester powder, electro-statically applied on a phosphatized base.
