Welding Torch is a simple instrument. They are of two types such as self-blowing torches and lightweight torches. Main functions of the welding torch are to furnish the electrode with electrical current and direct the electrode & gas flow to the work-piece. Main components of the welding torch are the contact tube, where the current is transmitted to the electrode & the nozzle, which provides a laminar gas flow to the weld pool, the torch switch, which sends signals to the feed unit and the handle. A welding torch is used in an automatic welding system to direct the welding electrode into the arc, to conduct the welding power to the electrode and to provide shielding of the arc areas. Welding torches are used in conjunction with the DC generators.
