Turbo Alternators set consists of a high-speed turbine coupled to a low speed electrical machine through a reduction gearbox. However, the power output of an electrical machine is proportional to speed. Consequently, if the electrical machine is run at turbine speed, it is so small that it can be integrated into the engine on the same shaft as the turbo machinery forming a compact high-speed generator or turbo alternator. The gearbox is no longer required and the alternator also acts as a starter motor to further reduce the size of the generator set.

Turbo-blowers consist of a fixed housing and a driven blade wheel. The air is drawn into the centre of the blade wheel and accelerated to the outside due to the centrifugal action. In the adjacent spiral housing, the kinetic energy is transformed into static energy to a large part. The amount of differential pressure is a function of the circumferential speed of the blade wheel and of the number of stages. The efficiency of thoroughly designed turbo-blowers comes up to 80%. Turbo-blowers can be used over a broad range of volume flow at a rather constant differential pressure. In the case of the expensive turbo-blowers, the range is further extended by an adjacent diffuser blade wheel.

The Turbo Centrifugal Compressor is engineered with three stages of compression to deliver greater flow for every KW. The system provides much better operating economy than rotary screw or other centrifugal compressors. Compared to other machines of similar capacity, the Turbo Centrifugal Compressor has the best KW-to-flow ratio for ultimate power savings. Turbo Centrifugal Compressors are the most efficient oil-free compressors at full load, part load, and no load.

Turbo compressor is one from a family of dynamic compressors; these machines are widely used to compress air and gas. Compression is affected by spinning the air at high speed, imparting kinetic energy to the air. The turbo compressor is driven via a gearbox at 6000 to 40000rpm with a pressure rise up to 160Kpa in a single-stage configuration. The turbo generator has the ability to turndown the flow using inlet guide vanes or a throttle valve.

A turbo generator is a turbine directly connected to an electric generator for the generation of electric power. Smaller turbo-generators with gas turbines are often used as auxiliary power units. Diesel generators offer much better fuel-efficiency, so these are usually preferred for base loads.
