Dense Phase Pneumatic Transport is an attractive means of conveying solids. Dense phase pneumatic transport is characterized by the flowing of the solids in a high bulk density mixture such that the particles are conveyed by the pushing action of the particles against each other. Dense phase pneumatic transport requires less transport air reducing spouting and elutriation at the point of injection within the bed.

Densitometer is a device that measures the degree of darkness of a photographic or semitransparent material or reflecting surface. It is basically a light source aimed at a photoelectric cell, which determines the density of the sample from differences in the readings. Modern densitometers have the same components, but also have electronic integrated circuitry for better reading. There are two types of densitometer, which includes transmission densitometer and reflection densitometer.

Density measurement system is designed for sophisticated density measurements. The advantage of this system includes non-contacting continuous measurement using gamma absorption, independent of color, temperature, pressure, viscosity, conductivity and chemical properties of the product, temperature compensation and source decay compensation.

Density Separators are effective at removing heavier or lighter materials than the recovered wood waste material. The equipment could also sort materials according to differences in particle size using air resistance characteristics. These separators are also available in a vibrating design. The vibrating models combine the pre screening and air classification functions.

Depalletizers provide an efficient means to sort or inverted corrugated boxes from bulk layered pallets on to a conveyor or conveying system for use in high speed automated packaging systems. Although there is great variety in different manufacturer's system designs, the basic principles of mechanical de-tier remain relatively constant for most applications. The case depalletizer consists of a load section, a tilt chamber and a de-tier section. One tier of packages is extracted from a pallet in a horizontal position. The load chamber feeds a vertical pallet into the tilt chamber. The tilt chamber tilts the pallet into an almost horizontal position and loads the de-tier device. Through a combination of gravity and mechanical clamping, the de-tier separates the top tier of cases from the remaining tiers and feeds the packages into a conveyor or conveying system. This process is repeated with each tier until the pallet is empty and subsequently discharged into a pallet stacker. Case depalletizers are used extensively in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, consumer products, and chemical industries.
