Index matching coating consists of thin quartz layer on top of the ITO layer. It is applied to low-emissive thin-film coating. The nodules growing from low-emissive coating are removed to avoid defects from the layers of index-matching coating. The oxygen-containing atmosphere produces stress in the low-emissive coating and hardens the coating. Magnesium-fluoride is used as a final layer of index-matching coating to improve abrasion resistance. The resulting glass panels are used as a display panel in a plasma display or an organic light-emitting diode display.
