Screw conveyor drive consists of a fully enclosed single or double reduction reducer with a drive shaft, mounting adapter, V-drive and motor mount assy. The screw conveyor drive can either be central or peripheral. With a central drive unit the material is removed through a gate, while with a peripheral drive unit direct removal of materials at the end of the screw casing is possible. Screw conveyor is a conveyor, which consists of a helical screw that rotates upon a single shaft within a stationary trough or casing, and it can move bulk material along a horizontal, inclined, or vertical plane. It has a central shaft running along the axis of a U-shaped trough, with a screw or helical ribbon attached to the shaft. The sugar is pushed along the trough by the action of the screw and may be discharged at the end or through a hole in the bottom. The main characteristic of the screw conveyor is mixing, which is used for mingling or coating operations.
