Carbon Steel Nipple is a metal alloy nipple, a combination of two elements, iron and carbon, where other elements are present in quantities too small to affect the properties. Carbon steel nipples can be of different kinds like mild carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel nipples depending on the percentage of carbon content. Mild carbon steel is mostly used for producing nipples because it has both the characters of flexibility and strength. As carbon content rises, the nipple becomes harder and stronger but less ductile and more difficult to shape hence low carbon content is used for the production of carbon steel nipples. These nipples are used in high corrosive environments and also in high temperature applications.
