Graphite molds are used principally in the casting of titanium. Usually, a thin refractory wash is sprayed on the inside surface to increase mold life and permit faster solidification. These molds have extremely high conductivity and are exceptionally well suited for parts, which require maximum soundness in heavy sections.
Graphite packing is made of expanded graphite yarn braids and is resistant to heat, chemicals, and tight in sealing. It is widely used in the steam valves of power plant, or as static sealing in places where high temperature and pressure, or chemical corrosion prevails.
Graphite powder is a high-purity synthetic graphite that can improve the thermal and electrical conductivity of a wide variety of materials including paints, coatings, plastics, rubber and adhesives. It has an extremely high sublimation temperature that makes it highly refractoriness.
