Snubbers are restraining devices used to control the movement of pipe & equipment during abnormal dynamic conditions such as earthquakes, turbine trips, safety/relief valve discharge and rapid valve closure. Snubber protects transducers and other delicate line installations from shock damage caused by pressure pulsation, surges and fluctuations. A snubber is a circuit designed to modify the waveform of the voltage across or the current through the switch. The snubbers also filter the fluid entering the gage and prevent foreign matter from entering the pressure elements. The snubbers are used as filters or as orifices to filter.
