Closed circuit cooling tower is used to combine a heat exchanger and cooling tower into a single compact unit. The process fluid to be cooled is kept clean in a contaminant-free closed loop in contrast to open circuit cooling towers. The lower fouling of the closed loop reduces system energy consumption. The cooling fluid pressure drops are reduced by closed loop and the closed circuit tower are installed below the equipment to be cooled. It has its own flow of water that is sprayed onto the condenser water circuit pipes to cool them down indirectly. Its applications include water source heat pump loops, air compress, water-cooled chillers and distributed cooling loops.
Closed Circuit Fluid Coolers contain two separate fluid circuits, they are external circuit and internal circuit. In external circuit, water is exposed to the atmosphere as it cascades over the tubes of a coil bundles. In internal circuit, the fluid to be cooled circulates inside the tubes. These coolers are used on heat pump systems and screw compressors. Closed circuit fluid coolers use the evaporation of a small volume of the recirculated water within a system to remove heat. The closed circuit fluid coolers minimize particulates within the condenser water and maintain high quality condenser water.
