High-energy capacitors are used for storing charge and energy in high voltage applications. High-energy capacitors with metallic electrodes are well suited for large capacitor banks with discharge times in the millisecond range. It stores the charge until the voltage is high enough to break down the air in a high voltage spark gap. It is implemented for pulse-powered applications, electrical vehicles and military equipments.
High flow accumulators act as flow control mechanisms. These are used for various functions in hydraulic systems, including energy storage, pulsation dampening, thermal expansion, and surge control. It is integrated into the design of special machines to level out shock conditions and/or supply relatively small quantities of fluid at a high flow rate. It can be used to store energy of an incompressible fluid.
