Tank is a construction or a container, usually for holding liquids, sometimes for gases. The term can be used for both reservoirs and for manufactured containers. These tanks will have a small opening at the top and this opening will be used for filling the liquid or gases inside the tank so after filling the liquid the opening is closed by an adapter called tank adapter, which is generally a water tight adapter used for closing the tanks mouth. These adapters are of different types like bulk headed adapter, normal thread adapter, bolted adapter and adapter with O-ring for greater leakage production. These tank adapters are of both plastic and metals some of the plastics used for making tank adapters are PVC, CPVC, fiberglass & ABS.
Tank Bottom Valves are welded into the lowest point of a vessel base and enables the vessel to be drained, cleaned or sterilized. The valve is mounted on a block flange. Its application includes bioreactors and sterile holding/pooling. Tank bottom valves are equipped with single or multiple purge connections to allow purging between cycles or sterilization for aseptic processes. Tank bottom valves are the ideal solution for tank draining. The valves are designed to ensure full tank discharge. Tank bottom valves are fitted with manually operated bonnets or pneumatic actuators.
Tank bottoms are normally sloped approximately half an inch per foot of tank diameter from the high side to the low side. They are used for non pressure /non vacuum applications and can be equipped for complete drainage with internally flush center drains. The insulation between the two tank bottoms is of cylindrical perlite. They are cleaned periodically by circulating accumulated method. All tank inlet and outlet connections, mixing devices and water draw-off connections are located beneath the level of the tank bottom. The tank-cleaning process can reduce hazardous waste generated from tank bottoms.
