Fluoropolymer coating is a blend of high performance resins and fluoropolymer lubricants. These single coat thin films provide excellent corrosion and chemical resistance. Its advantages include reduced friction, resistance to galling, non-stick, non-wetting, electrical resistance and abrasion resistance.

Fluoropolymer is a polymer that contains atoms of fluorine. They are characterized by an unusually high resistance to solvents, acids and bases. Superior heat resistance up to 500°F/260°C coupled with excellent chemical resistance and lubricity have fluoropolymer as one of the best tubing material. Featuring a low coefficient of friction and anti-stick properties, each material has specific dominant characteristics, but all are suitable for high temperature applications and are chemically inert and non-leaching. The special characteristics of fluoropolymer tubing are exceptional heat resistance, chemically inert to all common solvents, mineral acids, bases and organics, unequalled corrosion resistant, self extinguishing, extremely low moisture retention (<0.01%), self lubricating, lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer, indefinite shelf life, excellent dielectric strength and good electrical properties. Fluoropolymer tubing can be of PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene, PFA perfluoroalkoxy, FEP fluorinated ethylene-propylene, ETFE Ethylene TetrafluoroEthylene, PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluoride and TFE trifluoroethanol.
