Downhole hammer is also known as the downhole drill. A downhole hammer is an alternative tool in deep well drilling, which is a very economical method in hard formations. This tool grants the capabilities to remove rock from 18″ to 96″ diameter. This hammer is located on the end of the drill string. The hammer piston directly contacts the bit. Because the piston discharges energy directly to the bit, energy does not dissipate through the drill string as the hole deepens. This means that given adequate air, downhole drilling performance will not decrease as depth increases.

Downhole Logging (2 suppliers)
Downhole logging is the process of measuring physical, chemical, and structural properties of penetrated geological formations using logging tools. These tools are either lowered into the borehole on a wireline cable (wireline logging) or placed just behind the drill bit as part of the drill pipe itself (logging-while-drilling). The tools employ various acoustic, nuclear, and electrical measurement techniques to acquire downhole logs of properties such as sonic velocity, density, and electrical resistivity. The wireline cable provides real-time communication between the tools and the surface; logging-while-drilling tools typically record the logs in downhole memory devices, which are subsequently downloaded when the tool returns to the ship. The downhole logs are rapidly collected, are continuous with depth, and measure in situ properties.

Downhole separation method is installed in the bottom of an oil well. It separates oil and water in the well bore. The oil-rich stream is produced to the surface, while the water-rich stream is pumped directly to an injection formation without ever coming to the surface. Two basic methods of separation are available such as hydrocyclones and gravity separation. Hydrocyclones use centrifugal force to separate fluids of different specific gravity. This does not involve any moving parts. A mixture of oil and water enters the hydrocyclone at a high velocity from the side of a conical chamber. It is designed with electric submersible pumps, progressive cavity pumps and rod pumps. Gravity separator-type systems are designed to allow the oil droplets that enter a well bore through the perforations to rise and form a discrete oil layer in the well.
