Tubing is a pipe or hollow cylinder for the conveyance of fluid. The terms pipe and tubing are interchangeable. Both pipe and tube imply a level of rigidity and permanence, whereas a hose is usually portable and flexible. Polyurethane pressure tubing offers excellent resistance to kinks, abrasion, hydrolysis, oxidation and ozone with high resilience, good energy absorption and good all-around chemical resistance. These tubing are excellent in applications requiring superior toughness and resistance to tear, oxidation, fungus and humidity and also remains impact resistant and flexible in cold temperature applications. Polyester-based polyurethane tubing is generally stronger and enjoys a slight cost advantage. Pressure Tubing can be used in the most physically demanding applications, such as those requiring a tight bend radius. Specially formulated polyurethane tubing is resistant to a range of chemicals, including oils, greases, solvents and chemicals. Because of its excellent wear properties, polyurethane frequently outperforms traditional rubber, plastic and metal materials when exposed to abrasive conditions. These tubings are used in food & cosmetic processing, pellet & powder transfer, lubricant & degreaser dispensing, coolant recovery systems and in pneumatic sensory devices.
