Rub Testers is used for moving a weighted test strip over a printed specimen through an arc. It is an affordable abrasion testing instrument that retains all the features that made it an industry standard plus improvements that insure it will remain the industry standard. The stroke of the tester is shortened that increases the precision and more closely simulates abrasion damage found in the field. It is also designed to measure scuffing or rubbing resistance. It allows decreasing the testing time for samples requiring a higher number of rubs. An optional heated weight provides a uniform test for evaluating hot abrasion resistance of printed cartons and labels. It is used for quality testing of commercial print and packaging where surface rub durability is required. The instrument uses the latest technology, including digital logic control to provide consistency and accuracy with ease of use.
