Welding is a fabrication process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing coalescence. Welding fume extractor with mechanical (MFD), self-cleaning (MFS) or electrostatic (MFE) filter that can be combined with various extraction arms. Mobile units provide increased flexibility at various work locations and at locations that are not accessible with a fixed installation. Weld fume filters are also suitable for extraction at multiple workstations.
Weld location pins are used for the precision alignment of nuts by resistance welding use silicon nitride. It offers accurate and repeatable nut location and extended lifetime performance. The location pins allow sheet metal parts to have nuts welded to them in precise locations. These pins make use of silicon nitride's strength; wear resistance, resistance to molten metal slag, and its electrical resistivity.
Weld neck flanges are the most common type of flange used for high pressure applications. They are recognized by their long tapered hub. The hub provides an important reinforcement to the flange itself and acts to reduce rotation of the flange at bolt-up. The smooth transition between the flange and the hub combined with the strength of the butt weld joint, allows the flange to be used in extreme conditions of cyclic loading, bending and temperature fluctuations. They are characterized by its smooth hub transition from flange to weld end. They are referred to as high-hub flange designed to reduce high-stress concentrations at the base of the flange by transferring stress to the adjoining pipe. They are normally used in severe service applications involving high pressures, high temperatures or sub-zero conditions.
