Blast furnace is a metallurgical furnace, which is used for smelting to produce metals, generally iron. A furnace in which combustion is intensified by a blast of air, especially a furnace for smelting iron by blowing air through a hot mixture of ore, coke, and flux. In a blast furnace, fuel and ore are continuously supplied through the top of the furnace, while air is blown into the bottom of the chamber, so that the chemical reactions take place throughout the furnace as the material moves downward. The end products are usually molten metal and slag phases tapped from the bottom, and flue gases exiting from the top of the furnace. Blower purge regenerative dryer is a regenerative blower, which moves atmospheric air into the circulation heater where it is heated and directed to the left desiccant bed for regeneration. The hot absorbent purge air enters the desiccant bed from the top and flows down heating the desiccant bed and collecting moisture from the desiccant. The now moisture laden purge air exits the system through the purge valve and muffler.

Boiler blow-off tank is a vessel designed to receive the discharge from a boiler blow-off outlet. The discharge is cooled to a low temperature to permit its safe entry into the drainage system. It is used to reduce pressure and temperature of blow-down form boilers. The boiler blow off tank is located within the boiler plant building.
