Cable locks are similar to chain locks in many ways. Cable locks often come with the locking mechanism already permanently integrated. Otherwise, a length of cable with loops on both ends can also be used. The main advantage of cable locks over chains is the ease of transporting them. Many cable locks are made of spring cable that automatically coils itself when released. Even a straight cable can be coiled by the user into a more manageable shape than a chain.

Cable lugs are suitable for the connection of copper conductors in power cable with electronic equipment. To make connections with a cable, a suitable form of cable lug is to be fitted at the end of the cable. It is also called as cable socket. Usually cable lugs consist of two parts, the tail part where the cable end is fixed and gripped in tightly and the head part which is bolted on to the terminal face.

Cable managers serve for the management of extra long patch cords and equipment cords, which enable one to avoid haywire and loops, and provide good visible access to coding rapes. The cable managers additionally protect the patch cord against deflection under its own weight that may result in electrical performance and degradation of contacts in the connector. The use of cable managers is mandatory for category 5 cable line construction.
