Cast iron scrap is an iron alloy that contains high amounts of carbon. It is a raw material for the production of new steel and cast-iron products. The steelmaking and foundry industries are dependent upon the ready availability of scrap from manufacturing operations and from the recovery of products that are no longer used or needed.
Cast Iron Sprocket are available in several types such as solid centers, split sprockets and segmented removable rims. Split sprockets are used when the sprocket must be mounted between bearings. This type of sprockets can be installed and removed without disturbing the shaft and other parts of the machine. The segmented removable rims are bolted to the center of the sprocket. These rims are designed to installed and replaced without removing the chain, hubs, bearings and shafts. The solid center sprockets are too small to accommodate with the arms.
