Automated ball valves are used as an on/off flow switching valves. If it opens or closes the valve slightly, it is automated with electric or pneumatic actuators. These valve packages are sized and pre-assembled for ease of selection. It is used for commercial, industrial, and sanitary applications.

Automated butterfly valves are suitable for automatic operation of butterfly valves using quality keystone MRP rack and pinion actuators. Actuators are hard anodized aluminum inside and out with an additional external electrostatic powder coating for superior corrosion resistance. Butterfly valves are available in 2-way arrangements with lug or wafer mounting patterns or 3-way for mixing and diverting service. Wafer style valves include bolt guide holes for easy mounting. The automated butterfly valves are designed with direct mount electric or pneumatic actuators for a compact valve package.

Automatic control check valve is used for surge protection devices. It is a multipurpose valve used for pump discharge control. These valves combine the function of flow control, check valve, shut-off valve and drain valve.

Axial flow control valves or grid valves are appropriate for low-pressure applications and high volume flows and is available with a relatively short span. The low-pressure end, which is the drive end is a turning (barring) gear used to rotate the shaft when the turbine is cooling down. These turning devices are often utilized on high inlet temperature turbines over 850 degF (455 deg C) and when the bearing span is over 150 inches (3810 mm).

Back Pressure Regulators sense and control evaporator pressure. The primary function of this valve is to prevent evaporator pressure from falling below a predetermined value. The valve opens when the evaporator is operating at design pressure. As the load is met and evaporator pressure drops, the valve automatically throttles or restricts vapor leaving the evaporator, thus maintaining the desired minimum evaporator pressure. When the load increases, the evaporator pressure rises above the valve setting and the valve opens further. It prevents freezing of water chillers that operate at excessively low suction temperatures. On a multi-temperature evaporator system, the backpressure-regulating valve is installed on the suction line of the higher-temperature evaporator.

Balanced 3-way valve is used to actuate a single acting cylinder or hydraulic press. It is also ideal for diversion or selector service.

Balanced bellows safety relief valve is a safety valve incorporating a bellows seal, which prevents discharging fluid entering the bonnet space. They are used for minimizing the effect of backpressure on the performance characteristics, opening pressure, closing pressure, lift and relieving capacity. These valves are used where the relief valves are piped to a class spare system and the back pressure exceeds the set pressure. On valve opening, back pressure acts only on that portion of the disc in the closing direction that overhangs the valve seat. They are used in flow lines, multiphase lines, or for paraffinic or asphaltic crude. An advantage of this type of relief valve is, for corrosive or dirty service, the bellows protects the spring from process fluid. They are commonly used in corrosive and flammable service in the refinery and petrochemical industries.

Ball check valve is a check valve in which the disc, the movable part to block the flow is a spherical ball. They are employed to automatically stop flow in the back direction when the fluid in the line reverses. The interior surface of the seats of ball check valves are more or less conically-tapered to guide the ball into the seat and/or form a positive seal when stopping reverse flow. They are commonly used in liquid or gel mini-pump dispenser spigots, spray devices, some rubber bulbs for pumping air, manual air pumps as well as refillable dispensing syringes. High pressure HPLC pumps use small inlet and outlet ball check valves with balls made of artificial ruby and seats made of artificial sapphire, both for hardness and chemical resistance.

Ball control valves have been adapted from the automation of simple on-off valves to automatic control valves designed specifically to accurately control the process. Ball control valve handles a rangeability of 300 to 1, notably higher than butterfly control valves that offer 20 to 1. They are also suited for slurry applications or those processes with fibrous content (such as wood pulp). The rotary action of the ball provides a shearing action against the seal, which allows for clean separation of the process during closure. Tight shut off is a characteristic of ball control valves, since the ball remains in continual contact with its seal.
