Index Matching Coatings
Index matching coating consists of thin quartz layer on top of the ITO layer. It is applied to low-emissive thin-film coating. The nodules growing from low-emissive coating are removed to avoid defects from the layers of index-matching coating. The oxygen-containing atmosphere produces stress in the low-emissive coating and hardens the coating. Magnesium-fluoride is used as a final layer of index-matching coating to improve abrasion resistance. The resulting glass panels are used as a display panel in a plasma display or an organic light-emitting diode display.

Industrial Paints
Industrial paints are pigmented liquids used to protect substrates. These differ in terms of chemistry. These paints typically include a resin, a solvent, additives, and pigments. These paints can be applied in many substrates including ceramic, concrete, fabric, fiberglass, glass, graphic, metal, paper, plastic, rubber, elastomer, and asphalt. Specifications for industrial paints include coverage, VOC content, pot life, viscosity, and specific gravity.

Inorganic Zinc Coatings
The inorganic zinc coatings require either a near white or commercial blast clean surface. The inorganic zinc coatings chemically bond to the steel surface and have been found to provide adequate protection without a topcoat when applied to a dry film thickness of about 4 mil. The epoxy mastics and coal-tar epoxy prime coats are suitable over a sound, previously coated surface. Inorganic zinc coatings are very resistant to different chemicals and especially solvents.

Internal Coatings
Internal coatings are used to increase flow efficiency for natural gas pipelines and other anti-corrosion applications. Improved flow conditions may enable use of a smaller pipe or allow for lower compression requirements. Internal coatings are designed to improve barrel performance by creating a slick surface for the paintball to travel over. Some internal coatings are designed to also protect the inside of the barrel from scratches. This internal coating incorporates teflon and ceramic to create a hard and very slick surface. All barrels should be mirror/micro polished internally to say the least.

Intumescent Coatings
Intumescent coatings are paint like coatings that are applied to structural steel members. The final thickness of these coatings typically ranges from 0.03 inches to 0.50 inches. Intumescent coatings contain a carbonic, viz. a polyhydric, source of carbon such as starch or penta erythritol, which is rich in carbon and tends to form a charred foam on heating. This must be used in conjunction with a source of phosphoric acid, of which mono ammonium phosphate has been claimed as being particularly effective. The foam formed on commencement of combustion, acts as an insulator for the substrate. This insulating barrier is necessary to ensure the structural performance of the steel members at the temperatures anticipated during a fully developed fire. For intumescent coatings to provide this insulating barrier to the structural steel, two unique characteristics of the coating must be considered, coating expansion and retention of a char layer.

Laser Cladding
Laser cladding is an interdisciplinary technology utilizing laser technology, computer aided design and manufacturing, sensors & controls and powder metallurgy. Laser cladding utilizes a laser heat source to deposite a thin layer of a desired metal on a moving substrate. The deposited material can be transferred to the substrate by several methods: powder injection, pre-placed powder on the substrate, or by wire feeding. As a cladding process, it exhibits many advantages over plasma cutting and arc welding. These advantages include a reduction in dilution, a reduction in waste due to thermal distortion and a reduction in deposit porosity.

Laser Marking
Laser marking is a non-contact process, and thus it minimizes mechanical distortion and introduces no contamination. It is especially applicable to marking of small, delicate, high-value assemblies, like semiconductor wafers. Thus, even though laser equipment is often more expensive than competing technologies, laser-marking applications in industry have become common and are increasing in number. It offers a flexible, sophisticated alternative to conventional marking of products. It is increasingly used in the production process to incorporate features, which either simplifies of permit flexible computer-aided manufacturing.

Latex Modifiers
Latex modifiers are unique reactive acrylic additives designed to enhance the performance of cement-based materials. When added to cement based mortars, patches, plasters and coatings, latex modifiers improve mechanical performance, workability, adhesion and resistance to harsh environmental exposures. They overcome the limitations of conventional acrylic modifiers, eliminating set retardancy, avoiding surface skinning to extend surface working time, and developing superior resistance to water immersion.

Liquid Adhesive Systems
The liquid adhesive systems consist of elastomers blended with polymeric resins dissolved in an organic solvent system. It can be used for machine or hand applications in environmentally sensitive areas. In addition to excellent adhesion to the pipe substrate and cathodic disbondment resistance, the pipe surface is protected against stress corrosion cracking with industry proven SCC inhibitors. These systems mainly contain parachloro-benzotriflouride solvent. It is used for binding lignocellulosic materials in the manufacture of composite products.
